Super Mario Galaxy: The Movie is an animated feature film inspired by the universe of Super Mario Bros. and a sequel to The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which generated over $1.3 billion worldwide upon its release in 2023. Both films—the 2023 movie and Super Mario Galaxy: The Movie—are produced by Chris Meledandri of Illumination and Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo.

The film will be co-financed by Universal Pictures and Nintendo and will be distributed worldwide by Universal Pictures.

Super Mario Galaxy: The Movie is directed by the filmmakers of the first film, Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, from a screenplay by returning writer Matthew Fogel. Brian Tyler also returns to compose the film’s score.
