Written and directed by Michael Dowse, THE STUNT DRIVER is based on the true story of Ken Carter (Jay Baruchel), a world champion stunt driver who, in the mid-1970s, attempted to jump more than a mile across the St. Lawrence River in a rocket car. After too many crutches and broken bones, Ken puts everything on the line for one final spectacular jump to cap his 30-year career and finally achieve the fortune and fame he has always dreamed of. To make it happen, he enlists the world’s best rocket car designer, hires a top sports manager and builds a 90-foot-long ramp, while two rival film crews document the event.

In the vein of Free Solo and Fitzcarraldo, this is the funny and tragic story of an underestimated hero whose singular passion will lead him to accomplish the unimaginable. Because his incredible rocket-car jump seems, to anyone with two eyes, completely impossible.
